Angband forum4/10/2024 ![]() Some suggestions would change aspects of Angband that are essential to its nature Angband has a long history, and so has developed a certain character over the years. Sometimes a suggestion may not be right for the game, though. If you are interested, I have both original 2.3.5 (with Dale and Theme included) and nightly community build from 2015 on my dropbox. The developers keep an eye on the forums, and ideas deemed OK will get filed for future implementation. It was hosted as git repository but it seems gone (or my reasearch skills are really bad currently, it's 1:30 AM here). Use Notepad++, Sublime Text, or any sensible text editor instead.Įdit3: It's hard to find ToME 2.3.5 and modules currently. You can't create true variant in this way, but definitely you can adapt this game for your desires.Įdit: If I would have to chose my favorite variant ever, I'd hesistate about NPP Angband, Tome 2.3.5 and First Age AngbandĮdit2: If you would like to tinker with vanilla angband text files, and you are using Windows, I'd suggest to not use standard Notepad - it doesn't support some escape codes, so these txt files looks really messy on Notepad. I used to coming back to Tome 2.3.5 due to many reasons (.mostly that there are two truly great mods: Dale and, especially, Theme). If I want to feel that I live (and I'm wandering throguht mountains, forests, etc.) in this world, I'm playing First Age Angband. So, if I want to play something like improved vanilla, I'd play NPP Angband. Variants provide huge variety of gameplay, so sometimes I'd play one variant, sometimes another.
